Flooded Baroque series

2018

In Flooded Baroque, the series reimagines grand historical libraries submerged in water, merging the weight of cultural history with the unsettling realities of climate change. The still, reflective floods create a surreal tension as elegant white birds forage among the shelves of ancient books—symbols of knowledge and permanence now threatened by rising waters.

This series explores the fragility of human achievement in the face of environmental crisis. The mirrored reflections blur boundaries between reality and its dissolution, asking viewers to contemplate what we preserve and what we risk losing as climate change reshapes both nature and cultural memory.
